Dear Couchsurfers,
I am Eric or Hao-Yuan, and I am from Taiwan. I am doing my master degree in Intercultural Communication at Centre for Applied Linguistic, Warwick University, United Kingdom. Currently, I am writing my master dissertation and I found it would be very interesting combining my personal interests and studies together. Therefore, I decide to write about the linguistics politeness in the interaction of host and visitor in terms of illustrating rapport building through intercultural communication competence in the community.
To brief, I am trying to get more understanding about how people interact among message exchange and causal conversation. It is important to examine how people talk to each other effectively and appropriately beyond culture and boundaries.
Indeed, I have been beneficial from doing couchsurfing since my first exchange year in Poland. I make friends, practice my English, and learn how to behave appropriately. I gain a lot of invaluable culture exchange and communication skills. That's why I am doing my master degree in this field. I want to make friends around the world.
To help me is very easy.

I need messages or request in English from visitors and host, either accepted or declined. You can change the name by yourself, or I will put them into anonymous in my research. By the way, it is good to send me your profile and the people whom you interact. I hope I can get 30 messages, but more than that is absolutely welcomed.

Just talk: the conversation between you and your visitors or your host.
It would be nice to get the written data, and spoken data as well. All you need to do is just talk to each other. I think talking about the couchsurfing experience and how you find each other should be definitely awesome or whatever you fancy.
I hope I can get at least 3-pair candidates, and up to 5 pairs for 30 mins conversation recording. At this moment, I am based on Coventry, so I am able to travel to the neighborhood area, like Birmingham, Oxford, and London.
